OUR COLLECTIVE INSANITY RISES AGAIN

In the twenties and thirties of the previous century many nations turned to the extreme right, and a few turned to the extreme left. We are seeing the same kind of thing unfolding now in the world. There is a collective psychology at work in our species that few have talked about. This issue is important to address because not knowing about this leads people to get sucked into the very extreme movements we usually want to avoid.

The way that happens is that collectively our societies are dealing with a spiritual condition, which is essentially unforgiveness. This spirit/this mentality of unforgiveness comes from a society’s self-righteous rejection of God’s loving forgiveness. This unforgiveness generates polarization in the population, and polarization generates the extreme versions of ourselves. And when we do not recognize the spiritual catalyst, we invariably think to solve our growing list of problems (caused by rising polarization) by becoming even more polarized. And typically, we feel totally fine with how polarized we are becoming, at least until our society slips into total madness.

There are still a few of us left who lived through the madness of the thirties. And there a lot of us left whose’ parents lived through those dark days. Our world should have enough experience with that madness to know not to let that happen again. The thing is, we never learned that what was happening in the world was our collective human species reacting to years of unresolved unforgiveness (caused by prideful self-righteous rejection of God’s loving forgiveness). Instead we taught ourselves and our children that what happened was unrelated outbreaks of fascism and communism. And the take-away from those times was that we need to recognize when a fascist or a Bolshevist attempts to rise to power.

There are many people in a host of different nations screaming out that fascism is rising again. And there are not a few screaming that communism is on the rise once more. And virtually no one sees that the two extreme ideological conditions are connected. And so, we work hard to fight the rising fascists if we are Left-leaning, and we work hard to fight the rise of rise of communism if we are Right leaning, and in doing so do not notice we are becoming more fascist and more communist all the time. 

I bring this up, not to try to save human society from this plight. It is going to go through this ordeal one last terrible time. We are, as a species way too dedicated to externalizing all of our issues, and way too prone to projecting the sins in ourselves we cannot face onto those we do not identify with to be able to stop this evil momentum.

No, I bring it up to say that whether anyone else chooses to follow you into the freedom that comes from offering others loving forgiveness or not, if you choose this path you will reap the contentment and serenity of a life lived in love. And no one and nothing can take that contentment and serenity away from you. 

We are all entering a time when a lot of what we thought we would always have to comfort ourselves with will be taken from us. And it will not matter whether we choose selfishness or love; we will all have to endure the miserable losses of this era. Yet if you choose love, you will have contentment in the face of terrible loss, and peace of mind in the presence of rising terror. If you choose selfishness you will have fears so overwhelm you that they will threaten to drive you literally insane.

Can you see that the choices you will make now, while things are still relatively calm, will determine how you will live, and what you will do, when the world become totally darkened by the madness that already has arrived on our species’ collective doorstep, and which is about to turn very ugly. If you can, if you hear what God is saying to you through me, then just do the simple thing of turning to God and saying to Him that you want Him to save you from your self, to draw you into a deeper trust in Him than you ever knew was possible. It will be that trust that empowers us to love when the wheels of the world fall off and the various Adolph Hitlers and Joseph Stalins take their place in our collective insanity.

When you do this, if you do, then tell God this too. God I give you ownership of my entire life. You are free to do anything to me you think good. I only ask that you give me the strength to endure what you lead me into. This is a very important and necessary thing to say to God. 

If you mean it when you say this to God He will surely keep you in His loving and miraculous care.

For the rest of you, remember that you were warned.
