This one is for someone very dear to me, Paul Dazet. Paul is a preacher who practices what he preaches. I can't tell you how refreshing that is. Paul is a Methodist, and he and I have talked out some very significant theological differences. We still disagree significantly on some things, and also agree on a lot of important things. But his genuinely respectful behavior toward me has always been something of a healing balm for me. Thank you, Paul, for being a real brother in Christ to me. PAUL If we never see the same If we never learn the name and we pasture in the fields of a shepherd's grace concealed I will still remember you and the things that you would do in the face of my contentions And I will love you true my bro I saw you recline with a cup of Jesus wine And I loved your heart of grace as you kissed my ugly face Oh I knew what you were feeling and smiled at your pain cuz I knew that you were trying and your efforts weren't in vain Oh I really needed kindness at that moment in my life My back still carrying another brother's knife Thank you, brother soul for living what you say God go with your person Go with you all the way If we never see the same If we never learn the name and we pasture in the fields of a shepherd's grace concealed I will still remember you and the things that you would do in the face of my contentions And I will love you true I will love you true my bro Words, music & audio recording © John Brusseau, 4/6/2026
