THE SONG OF JOB What I Want Is You I don’t want the motion I don’t need the action the fleeting taste of accomplishment Oh, I don’t really need all that pleasure and comfort that can so easily be turned to addiction What I want is simply You Long ago, back when I was so much younger I lost it; I lost the feeling of You I lost the courage and the contentment the peace of mind: I lost that romance humming in my soul ever since the music within, the dance the flourish the lofting of my mind into the air all about me is gone is gone..is gone... is gone G-O-OD GOD ! God, what I long for is You is you inside me flowing like a river like the mighty Mississippi overwhelming every last doubt and fear crushing my happy soul with joy God, is this the way things are going to be If they are I will still love You You are my whole existence The sorrow You lead me through sifts my lifeless soul But if You want to know what I long for What I long for is You Those moments of closeness of perfect oneness the gushing of glorious You through me When did we lose our self this something with meaning this something beloved and pleasing to You This longing, like this suffering will not last forever I am being remade by You this death I now feel this dying to all of my pride has always in the pas led to something new Life always follows death in the hands of love Love always comes to fill up the void of fear Like light erases even the memory of darkness So I will with with You God, even in this place of shadows You are here You are here Words, music, audio recording, & video © John Brusseau, 7/27/2025
