DAD'S REST

This is a song I wrote when my father passed/ He and I had blessed relationship, but it was not an easy one. He was the opposite temperament from me and so there was a lot of miscommunication we both needed to work through to feel each others' love. This required both of us to work through our fears to get that love that was always there waiting for us. I miss him enormously. I sing this song to him occasionally, and it never feels like a past tense thing. I fully accept he is gone from this world, but I have a very strong awareness that he is still living, just not here.

DAD'S REST

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Come to the sky baby
come through the door baby
the grass is so green baby
the water of life always flows

Jesus is there baby
you know that stare baby
the soft face of mercy
the soft voice of righteousness

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Come to the Lamb honey
Take Jesus hand honey
This is the land honey
of ... eternity with God

Spread out your arms brother
Hands out like wings brother
God holds your soul now
in Jesus' harmony

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
You have come hither
Bought with blood and
the body of Jesus
Dressed in the clothes of Christ

Look, He is waiting
His smile so wide now
at the sight of your coming
Long He's been waiting for you
