This song was written when I lived in Nashville. I lived in Nashville from 1975 to 2020. This period in my life was a period of both painful healing and marvelous blessing, and a lot of waiting for God to finally use me in the way he was calling me to be used by Him. This was a long dying to pride and healing from fear in my life. This song expresses my choice to trust God in this dying time. I still am undergoing healing from fear and dying to pride (and as long as I am in this body, I will continue to), but in 2020 my wife and I moved to northern Alabama at God’s direction. In this place God has begun to use me in the way He was preparing me all of my life to be used by Him. I look back at this song and I feel grateful for God’s ability to lead us through dying with Him and out to a newness of life freed from the prison of pride and the destructiveness of fear. LONDON NIGHT IN NASHVILLE TOWN Another London night in Nashville town A full dark sky .. pours a gentle rain .. on all our heads Our palms all read .. by the Son of God Jesus come and carry me away And now this London night in nowhere town It fills the sky .. like a blanket light upon our heads .. My eyes see red It's flashing trust in God Words, music, audio recording & video © John Brusseau, 7/11/2025
